OREM — The Utah Valley women's soccer team hosts in-state rival Utah Tech on Monday, Oct. 27 at 5 p.m. MT at UCCU Stadium in the front half of a doubleheader with the UVU men's team, who face UNLV at 7:30 p.m. The match will stream live on ESPN+.
The Wolverines (10-4-2, 6-0-1 WAC) sit atop the WAC standings and remain unbeaten in conference play, having clinched a berth in next month's WAC Tournament—set for Nov. 5–8 at UCCU Stadium. UVU enters Monday's match on a three-match win streak, outscoring opponents 16–1 over that span, including last Thursday's 8–0 Senior Night rout of Southern Utah. Graduate forward Faith Webber, the reigning WAC Offensive Player of the Year, scored a school-record five goals, tying Tennessee's Alivia Stott for the nation's highest single-game total this season. The five goals also mark a UVU single match record. Webber now leads the WAC in goals (15), points (33), and game-winners (5), while Ruby Hladek, UVU's all-time assists leader, has added nine assists and 31 points.
Utah Tech (7–6–4, 3–3–2 WAC) visits Orem after home wins over Tarleton State (1–0) and Abilene Christian (2–0), followed by a narrow 2–1 loss at California Baptist. The Trailblazers are led by senior Kyah Le (4g, 8a) and freshman Jocelyn Wright (5g), with freshman defender Abby Olsen anchoring the back line and earning two WAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Head coach Lexi Brown (formerly Lexi Robison) starred at UVU from 2011–14, earning WAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2014 before serving as a UVU assistant coach from 2015–16.
Utah Valley leads the all-time series 8-2-2, including a 5-0-1 mark in Orem and an eight-match unbeaten streak against the Trailblazers. The teams played to a 3–3 draw in St. George earlier this month.
