ARLINGTON, Texas – The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) has announced its weekly women's volleyball awards. Utah Valley's
Avery Page was named WAC Player of the Week for the fourth time in her career. She was joined by UT Arlington setter Mira Ledermueller and Abilene Christian libero Brennan Ramirez as this week's honorees.
Page led the Wolverines to a sweep over first-place Utah Tech on Saturday with 15 kills (5.00 kills/set), pacing the team offensively. It was the second time this season she has tallied 15 kills in a WAC match, having also reached that mark against Tarleton State in September.
Her defense was key at the net for the Wolverines, as Page recorded a season-high seven total blocks. The seven-block assists also set a career high in the win over the Trailblazers in the Old Hammer Rivalry.
This season, the Lehi, Utah, native is tied for the team lead in kills per set at 3.36 and leads UVU with 3.99 points per set. She became the fifth player in program history to reach 1,500 career points last week in the win over Utah Tech. Page now ranks fifth all-time in kills with 1,251 and second all-time in service aces with 137.
Page and the Wolverines will wrap up their home schedule this weekend, hosting Southern Utah on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 6 p.m. MT inside Lockhart Arena, before facing California Baptist on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. MT. Saturday's match will serve as UVU's Senior Day, with pre-match festivities honoring the five seniors.
