OREM, Utah – Utah Valley women's volleyball returns to action Thursday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. MT against UT Arlington inside the Smith Fieldhouse. The Mavericks enter the contest with a 9-6 overall record and a 1-2 mark in WAC play.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wolverines dropped their first WAC match of the season on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-1 to Utah Tech inside Burns Arena. UVU won the opening set in the first Old Hammer Rivalry match of the season between the two in-state rivals, but Utah Tech responded by taking the next three.
Bella Wooden tallied 13.5 points on seven kills and seven total blocks for the Wolverines.
Sami Blackett led the offense with 11 kills, while
Avery Page added nine.
Lani Matavao shined defensively, finishing with a season-high 21 of UVU's 54 digs.
SCOUTING THE MAVERICKS
UT Arlington is led by first-year head coach Tania Schatow. Outside hitter Jalie Tritt leads the Mavericks with 227.5 points, including 187 kills, 26 aces, and 25 total blocks.
Setter Mira Ledermueller has earned two WAC Setter of the Week honors this season, averaging 8.51 assists per set to go along with 25 service aces. Preseason WAC Libero of the Year Samantha Glenn has lived up to expectations, averaging just over four digs per set with 14 aces. UTA leads the nation with 150 service aces this season and ranks third nationally in aces per set (2.31).
SEVENTH TIME FOR MATAVAO
Utah Valley junior
Lani Matavao earned her seventh career WAC Libero of the Week honor this week after recording her first 20-dig performance of the season. Earlier this year, she received the award following the Outrigger Invitational, where she averaged 3.56 digs per set across three matches in Hawai'i. Matavao is 26 digs shy of passing Bryton Nixon (2020–23) for sixth all-time in program history.
