Utah Valley Hosts Pepperdine in Home Opener Friday Night

OREM, Utah – Utah Valley women's basketball hosts Pepperdine on Friday, Nov. 14, at 6 p.m. MT for its home opener. The game opens a three-game homestand for the Wolverines, featuring Benedictine and Weber State next week.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wolverines are coming off a 75-52 loss at Utah on Tuesday night at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. It was UVU's first loss of the season after wins at Cal State Bakersfield and Loyola Marymount. Kaylee Headrick scored a career-high 18 points for the Colorado State transfer and also set career highs in steals, field goals made and attempted, and minutes played. Cambree Blackham finished with 11 points, including a season-high three 3-pointers. Halle Nelson pulled down a season-high 12 rebounds, just three shy of her career best of 15.
 
SCOUTING PEPPERDINE
The Waves are 2-0 this season after an 84-70 win at Cal State Fullerton and a 74-51 victory over Westmont College. Four players are averaging double figures, led by Elli Guiney at 14.5 points per game. Guiney has gone 5-for-10 from 3-point range, while Ivory Finley (12.0 ppg) is 4-for-9 from deep. Seleh Harmon has made seven 3-pointers and is averaging 11.0 ppg. Pepperdine ranks No. 7 nationally in assists per game with 23.
 
ALL-TIME AGAINST THE WAVES
This will be the third meeting between the programs, with each team winning once on its home court. UVU won 72-65 in Orem in 2016, while Pepperdine earned a 71-44 victory in Malibu in 2017.

Utah Valley hosts Benedictine on Monday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. MT at the UCCU Center. The Hawks are 1-0 after a 97-47 win over Navajo Technical University.
