PROVO, Utah — Five top-10 marks hit on day one of the BYU December Invitational, led by four at the long jump pit.
In her first meet as a Wolverine, Maddie Passmore claimed the No. 2 spot on the indoor leaderboard with a mark of 5.84m, the best of the day. Passmore fell just .02 short of her indoor personal best set last season while she was still at BYU. Alisha Ellsworth set a new personal best of 5.59m to move into a tie for No. 9 all-time.
On the men's side, Gavin Stafford shattered his indoor PR with a jump of 7.35m to move to fifth all-time, surpassing his previous best of 6.84m, and was also the top overall mark of the day. Neal Berkey jumped up to No. 7 with a mark of 7.19. Berkey sits in second place at the midway point of the heptathlon events.
Eddie Sonny Garcia improved on his personal best in the shot put with a throw of 15.81m, but stayed put at No. 7 on that leaderboard.
