IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced that Utah Valley's Terrell Barraclough has been named this week's Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for his performance in duals against West Virginia and Air Force. He becomes the first Wolverine to win two in the same year since Tanner Orndorff did it back in 2018-2019.
 
It's the second time a Top 5 win has earned the UVU redshirt senior the award; he took home the year's first award after defeating Stanford's No. 3 Hunter Garvin by decision in November. He finished the opening weekend with a 5-0 record, including winning the 165 pound weight class at the Menlo Open. 
 
Barraclough finished 2-0 last week, including a thrilling victory at Layton High School on Thursday night when he knocked off No. 3 Peyton Hall of West Virginia with a last second takedown to prevent the match from going to overtime. The win was his fifth over a Top 5 opponent and his tenth ranked win of the season.
 
Against Air Force, Barraclough earned his ninth major decision over the season over Logan Fowler (19-5). This season, he is 22-1 and a perfect 13-0 in dual action and has scored 48 dual points for the Wolverines.
 
The Wolverines will close out the regular season on Friday, Feb. 14, against (RV) Northern Colorado inside Lockhart Arena at 7:00 p.m. MT. UVU will then prepare for the upcoming Big 12 Championships, which will be held on March 8-9 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
