ARLINGTON, Texas — Utah Valley's
Quincy Bonds has been named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Bonds set the Wolverines' 200-meter record, one that hadn't been broken since 2011, at the Wolf Pack Classic last week in Reno, Nevada. She finished the race in 23.76 seconds to set the record with her official adjusted time for qualifying ranks first in the WAC this season.
Also at last week's meet, Bonds broke the 60-meter hurdle record that she held and had broken two times in the previous meet. Her 60mH qualifying time also leads the WAC, is fifth in the Mountain Region and 30th in the country, and her 60 time — also a school record — is second in the WAC and seventh in the Mountain Region.
She's the fourth Wolverine to win the weekly award during the indoor season. On January 15,
Ella Hopper (track),
Alyssa Logan (field), and
Aiden Garnett (field) all were named WAC Indoor Athletes of the Week.
