OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University will open the 2025 Outdoor Track & Field schedule this weekend at the Utah Tech Invitational on March 21-22 at Greater Zion Stadium.
The Wolverines are among eight teams and programs competing, with host Utah Tech and Southern Utah also among the field from the WAC, and Utah State from the Mountain West.
Last outdoor season, Utah Valley's women earned their first-ever outdoor WAC title with the program also sending 14 athletes to the NCAA Preliminary Rounds in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Many of those competitors are back in 2025, including
Kelsi Oldroyd, the two-time defending WAC Champion in the javelin. Oldroyd made Utah Valley history last June when she competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the javelin.
The track & field squads also had a banner indoor season, wrapped up in February with the women earning their first WAC Indoor team championship. The Utah Valley women have consecutive outdoor ('24), cross country ('25), and indoor ('25) team championships as they look to defend their outdoor title this May in Arlington, Texas.
The meet begins Friday afternoon with the discus at 4 p.m. and the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 5 p.m. The shot put, long jump, and high jump will also be contested in the field with the 200, 400mH, and 5k on the track.
The bulk of the action will take place on Saturday, beginning with the javelin at 10 a.m. Races on the track start at 11 a.m. with the 4x100 relay and end at 2:10 p.m. with the 4x400 relays.
Up next for the Wolverines will be UVU Collegiate Invitational on Friday, March 28, at Hal Wing Track & Field in Orem.
