OREM, Utah — Jocelyn Phillips made her outdoor debut on Friday and set a new school record while winning the pole vault—one of three school records Utah Valley University set in the lone home meet of the season on Friday. Alex Hartshorn set a new men's mile outdoor record and Oakley Olson did the same on the women's side at the UVU Collegiate Invitational at Hal Wing Track & Field.

Phillips hit 3.95 meters to win the pole vault, following up an indoor season that saw her set that pole vault record while also winning the WAC Indoor title. Emily Conlin also had a PR and the seventh-best mark in the top 10 with her best mark of 3.60 meters.

Hartshorn's altitude-adjusted time of 4:02.37, and Olson's adjusted time of 4:53.36 now both sit atop the record book in the mile. Hartshorn won the men's mile, finishing just in front of teammate Mo Guled, who was running unattached. Wyatt Mortenson also had a personal record in the mile that entered the record book, with him now ninth with his adjusted time of 4:09.06.

The Wolverines totaled 17 personal records that ruffled the Top-10 record book during Friday's meet. Also in the mile, Anna Martin (4:54.80) and Natalia Boltz (4:57.11) now hold the No. 2 and No. 3 marks behind Olson following their performances.

The men's 4x100 group of Gavin Stafford, Cameron Franklin, Kade Thompson, and Gabe Remy ran the No. 2 time at UVU, second only to last year's WAC Outdoor Champions, who set a school record and advanced to the NCAA West Regional. Franklin, Thompson, and Remy were joined by Caleb Furnell in winning the WAC title in Orem in 39.21 seconds last May.

The men's 4x400 relay also closed out the day on the track with Franklin joined by Isaiah Archer, Brayden Walker and Max Clemons in setting the new No. 6 mark (3:12.84) in that event. Thompson also won the men's 100-meter dash and set the No. 5 mark in the top 10 with a 10.41-second finish. Remy moved up one spot, to No. 9, with his personal best in the 100 of 10.55 seconds. Archer moved to No. 4 in the 400-meter top 10 with his finish in 47.55 seconds on Friday.

The men had four top 10 personal bests among the throwers, two coming from Eddie Garcia. Trevor Hill set the No. 3 mark in the discus (49.66m), Andrew Turner is now No. 5 in the hammer (54.45m) and Garcia moved to No. 6 in the shot put (15.68m) and eighth in the hammer (52.62m). Also taking the 10th spot in the men's long jump was Caleb Washington, with his best just of 6.74 meters.

Utah Valley also had first place finishes in several other events, including Kelsi Oldroyd in the long jump and Ella Hopper in the 400-meter hurdles. Oldroyd is the program record holder while Hopper is currently No. 2 all-time in the 400mH. Franklin, the record-holder in the 400, won the event in 46.46 seconds, just off his PR of 46.30. Noah Peterson won the pole vault with Porter Westerling coming in third, Elyssa Shaw took first in the hammer (51.46m) with an unattached Alyssa Logan competing and finishing second. Taygin DeHart also took first place in the triple jump (10.81m).

Next week, the Wolverines will send distance runners to the Bay Area for meets at Stanford and San Francisco State, with the rest of the team headed to UNLV's Rebel ELITE in Las Vegas.
