OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University women's basketball coach
Dan Nielson has announced the signing of Colorado State transfer Kaylee Headrick. Headrick prepped at Westlake High School, where she was a teammate of Wolverine senior-to-be
Tessa Chaney.
"We are ecstatic to add Kaylee to our Wolverine family," said Nielson. "Her ability to score in different ways and defend multiple positions makes her a perfect fit for our team. She brings great experience and toughness to our roster that will help us build on last season's success. We can't wait for our fans to see her on the court next fall!"
Headrick spent last season at Colorado State and was part of a team that went 22-10. She appeared in 27 games, starting four times, and averaged 2.0 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.
Before signing with the Rams, Headrick played two seasons at the College of Southern Idaho where she was a first-team NJCAA All-American in 2023-24. She averaged 12.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game in 2023-24 with CSI, leading the team to a 28-6 record and a trip to the NJCAA National Tournament for the second straight season.
In Headrick's freshman season, the Golden Eagles went 31-3 and won two games at the NJCAA National Tournament. She averaged 10.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in 2022-23. At CSI, Headrick was also the Region 18 Player of the Year (2023-24), first-team Region 18 (2022-23), and honorable mention All-American (2022-23).
In high school, Headrick was named second-team All-State as a senior at Westlake in 2022. She'll join the Wolverines this summer with one year of eligibility remaining.
