OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University track & field is headed to Southern California this week with student-athletes slated to compete at Long Beach State's Pacific Coast Invitational and Beach Invitational, the Bryan Clay Invitational, and the Mt. Sac Relays in Torrace, Calif.
The Pacific Coast Invite at Long Beach State will take place on Thursday, with the Wolverines having 42 entries in the meet, with over half of those coming from the throwers. Also on Thursday,
Isaiah Archer and
Max Clemons will run in the 800 at the Bryan Clay on Wednesday. Clemons will be in heat one and Archer in heat two, starting at 3 p.m. PT/4 p.m. MT.
The Beach Invitational and Mt. Sac Relays will take place on Friday and Saturday. At Long Beach, the Wolverines have 52 entries slated to compete in the two-day meet, with several jumpers beginning their weekends with school-record holders
Aiden Garnett (high jump),
Kelsi Oldroyd (long jump), and
Jocelyn Phillips and
Porter Westerlind (pole vault).
At the Mt. Sac Relays, Utah Valley will mostly have distance runners competing, along with
Nick Forsyth and Oldroyd in the javelin.
Quincy Bonds (100mH) and
Ella Hopper (400mH) will also race at Mt. Sac on Saturday, as will the men's 4x100 squad who continues to hunt down last year's school-record time and WAC Champions and are in search of their second straight berth at the NCAA Regionals.
