Walnut and Long Beach, Calif. — Utah Valley's men's relay squads had a big day as the Wolverines wrapped up the weekend at the Mt. Sac Relays and the Beach Invitational.

The 4x400 squad of Cameron Franklin, Isaiah Archer, Brayden Walker, and Max Clemons set a new school record while finishing in second at the Beach Invite at Long Beach State. The quartet finished in 3:10.16 to set the new No. 1 mark.

Earlier in the day, Franklin also ran in the men's 4x100, also a Utah Valley Top-10 mark. Gunner Stepp, Franklin, Kade Thompson, and Gabe Remy finished in 39.94 seconds for the No. 4 time in the top 10. The group finished eighth in the Mt. Sac Relays 4x100 Men's Elite race on Saturday.

The Wolverines also had top 10 marks in the men's pole vault and men's shot put. Noah Peterson improved on the No. 2 mark in the pole vault, eclipsing 5.19 meters to finish fifth. Porter Westerlind, who holds the school record, also hit 5.19 meters and finished in fourth.

Payton Vernon had PR in the shot put, hitting 15.60 meters to move up to No. 9 in the record book in that event.

Also at the Mt. Sac Relays, Quincy Bonds finished in eighth place out of 19 competitors in the 100-meter hurdles in the women's elite race. Kali McEuen ran the 100-meter hurdles at Long Beach State and was 10th out of 58 competitor, just .01 of her PR, finishing Saturday's race in 13.76 seconds.

The Wolverines will be off next week before the final tune-up prior to the WAC Championships, at Southern Utah on May 1. The WAC Outdoor Championships will be May 15-17 at UT Arlington.
