LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Quincy Bonds continued her assault on the Utah Valley University record book with two school-record performances as the sprinters had a solid showing on Saturday at the UNLV Rebel ELITE. Bonds won the 100-meter hurdles with a record time of 13.07 seconds, breaking her previous program record. She also broke a 14-year-old school record in the 100-meter dash, taking second place at the meet in 11.41 seconds.
Porter Westerlind took third place in the men's pole vault and set a new school record after eclipsing 5.29 meters. He initially set his PR and program record after hitting 5.19 meters on his first attempt before hitting the new mark on his second attempt at 5.29.
First-place finishes on Saturday also included
Kelsi Oldroyd, who was just shy of her PR and school record of 56.66 meters with her best throw of 56.12 meters on Saturday.

The sprinters had a big day with
Kali McEuen and
Ella Hopper both setting two new personal records and top 10 times, while
Matthew Maclennan and the men's 4x100 squad also secured marks that put them in the record book.
McEuen set the No. 3 time in the 100-meter hurdles (13.75) and the fourth-best mark in the 400-meter hurdles (59.81). Hopper's two personal records came in the 200 and 400, where she is now No. 3 in the 200 (23.75) and fifth in the 400 (55.32).
The men's 4x100 squad of
Gavin Stafford,
Cameron Franklin,
Kade Thompson and
Gabe Remy followed up their No. 2 time at last week's home meet with the No. 3 time on Saturday, finishing the race in 39.78 seconds.
Maclennan finished the men's 110-meter hurdles in 14.53 seconds for a personal best that puts him sixth in the top 10.
The Wolverines also had distance competitors competing in the 800 at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic at San Francisco State, where
Abdulsalam Farah set the No. 9 time in the men's 800, in 1:52.12.
Next week, Utah Valley will send Matt Biggins and
Cole Johnson to the Bryan Clay Multis, with the rest of the roster competing at the Weber State and Utah Spring Classics.
