EUGENE, Oregon — The Utah Valley University men's 4x100 squad made program history on Wednesday, competing at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the national semifinal of the event at Hayward Field.
Gavin Stafford, Cameron Franklin, Kade Thompson, and Gabe Remy finished 10th place overall and fourth in their heat in Wednesday's national semifinal heats, and each member of the relay will earn second team All-America status. The Wolverines ran a school-record 38.90 — one of ten sub-39-second times in the semifinals, and the second-fastest among the non-Power 4 teams competing in the event.
The quartet caps a season that saw them capture the second straight 4x100 WAC Championship, make their second straight NCAA Regional appearance, and the first-ever UVU relay to advance to nationals. The Wolverines also posted eight top-10 marks in the event during the current outdoor season.
