NORMAN, Okla.  — Utah Valley University men's golfers Ethan Efford, Dane Huddleston, and Clement Lepine have been named 2024-25 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday.
The prestigious academic honor recognizes the trio for their combined excellence in the classroom, on the course, and within the community. Efford, Huddleston, and Lepine were among a distinguished group of NCAA Division I student-athletes from programs across the country to earn the distinction.
To qualify for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar recognition, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, participate in at least 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, post a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2. Recipients must also demonstrate high moral character and be in good standing with their institution.
Huddleston, who just completed a record-breaking sophomore season, became the first player in program history to receive both PING and Golfweek All-America honors. His 2024-25 campaign included five individual titles, a tie for fifth at the NCAA Reno Regional, and WAC Golfer of the Year honors. He posted a 69.8 adjusted scoring average with seven top-three finishes, ranking as high as No. 45 nationally, and was also named to the PING All-West Region Team.
Lepine, a senior from France, turned in a strong final season that included a tie for seventh at the National Golf Invitational presented by Golfweek and a 73.7 adjusted scoring average over 21 rounds. A leader on and off the course, Lepine maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA and posted two top-10 finishes on the year.
Efford, a senior from Canada, competed in 23 rounds and held a 74.9 adjusted scoring average. He posted a top-25 finish at the WAC Championship and consistently contributed throughout the spring, including a top-30 showing at the UCSB Gaucho Invite. Efford owns a 3.85 GPA and has been a dependable performer throughout his UVU career.
The Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar program is one of the most prestigious academic honors in collegiate golf, recognizing the sport's top student-athletes across the nation.
