Utah Valley redshirt junior wingback Keegan Oyler was named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week for the first week of the season, the publication announced earlier this week.

Oyler, a native of Meridian, Idaho, shined on the creative side for the Wolverines this week, assisting on three of Utah Valley's eight goals through the first two games of the season. Oyler had the 18th multi-assist game in program history last Thursday against CSU Bakersfield — assisting on the first two goals of the UCCU Stadium era — then set up Isaac Emojong's strike to cap off a 4-0 win over Gonzaga on Sunday. 

At the end of Monday's games, Oyler was tied for second in the nation on the young season in assists, and is leading the WAC. Albeit early, Oyler has backed the preseason prognostication from the league's coaches, who tabbed the defender to the preseason All-WAC team. Oyler is the first Wolverine since 2019 to earn a national weekly award. 

Oyler and the Wolverines return to action tonight at UCCU Stadium, facing off against the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. MDT, and tickets can be purchased at GoUVU.com/MSOCtix. The match will also be streamed live on ESPN+.
