LOGAN, Utah — Utah State scored twice after halftime to hand Utah Valley a 2-0 setback on Thursday afternoon at Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field in UVU's nonconference finale.
The Wolverines conclude nonconference play at 4-4-1, while the Aggies move to 3-3-2. Summer Diamond broke the deadlock in the 58th minute and Hadli Barrera added an insurance goal in the 77th.
Utah State outshot UVU 16-9 and held a 7-1 edge in shots on goal.
Faith Webber registered a match-high five shots for Utah Valley, and
Ruby Hladek added three attempts with one on target. UVU finished with an 8-7 advantage in corner kicks. Goalkeeper
Leah Wolf made five saves.
Utah Valley now turns to Western Athletic Conference play, opening a three-match homestand on Thursday, Sept. 25, against Tarleton State at 7 p.m. at UCCU Stadium.
