Wolverines Host SEC Power LSU Thursday Night at UCCU Stadium

OREM — Utah Valley University women's soccer continues its homestand on Thursday night, hosting SEC foe LSU at UCCU Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. MT, with the game broadcast live on ESPN+.

Utah Valley (1-2-1) is looking to bounce back after a 2-0 setback to Auburn on Monday afternoon, its first loss in the new UCCU Stadium. The Tigers scored on a ninth-minute penalty and added an insurance goal in the 80th, despite UVU holding a 10-7 edge in second-half shots. Faith Webber led all players with seven shots, while Leah Wolf tallied six saves in goal.

Through four matches, Ruby Hladek leads the Wolverines in goals (3), assists (2), and points (8), while also topping the team with six shots on frame. Webber has added a goal and an assist and paces UVU with 17 total shots, while Nixan Jackson has also scored this season. Wolf has played every minute in goal, totaling 24 saves with a 1.50 goals-against average and one shutout. Utah Valley is ranked No. 6 in this week's United Soccer Coaches Pacific Region Top-10 poll.

LSU (4-2-0) comes to Orem following a 3-2 comeback win over UC Davis on Sunday night in Baton Rouge. Senior forward Ida Hermannsdottir recorded her third career brace in the victory and leads the Tigers with three goals and two assists on the season. Junior forward Ava Galligan paces the team with four goals, including three game-winners, while graduate transfer Morgan Witz has added two goals. LSU also owns wins over South Alabama, FGCU, and Wisconsin, with its two setbacks coming on the road at Wake Forest and UCF.

Senior captain Jazmin Ferguson and fellow veteran Sydney Cheesman anchor LSU's back line, while goalkeeper Sophine Kevorkian has started every match. Kevorkian owns a 1.05 goals-against average with 12 saves and two shutouts through six matches. The Tigers are unbeaten at home (3-0-0) but 1-2-0 away from Baton Rouge. Head coach Sian Hudson is in her fifth season and recently earned her 50th career win.
