POCATELLO, Idaho — Utah Valley's distance runners shined on Friday at the Snake River, claiming nine of the 17 new top 10 marks set on a successful day in Pocatello.
The 3k saw the most action, with five new top 10 marks between the men's and women's runners. On the women's side, Morgan Nokes won the race with a converted time of 9:18.63 to take the No. 2 spot on the leaderboard. January additions Caren Kipsirat and Reagan Doman showed out with times of 9:26.09 and 9:28.95 to claim third and fourth.
Over on the men's side, Alex Hartshorn continued his torrid start to the indoor season with a new PR of 8:06.75, the fourth-best all-time. Wyatt Mortenson followed closely behind with a time of 8:13.73, good for ninth.

Kade Thompson shined in his specialties, the 60m and 200m. Thompson took second overall in the 60m with a new PR of 6.66, strengthening his spot at No. 2 in that event and jumping into the top 20 nationally this season. Thompson then went on to win the 200m with a season-best 21.41.
In the women's 60m dash, Eme Stout claimed her second top 10 in as many weeks with a time of 7.68, good for ninth. In the 60mH, James Duncan also claimed another top 10 with time of 8.10, moving up to fourth, with Matthew Maclennan claiming sixth with a time 8.18.
