OREM—Alone atop the Western Athletic Conference standings and riding a three-game winning streak, Utah Valley opens a three-game road stretch on Wednesday night at Southern Utah. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. MT at America First Events Center in Cedar City. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and carried on the Wolverine Sports Network/ESPN The Fan.

Utah Valley (15–4, 5–1 WAC) moved into sole possession of first place in the league following an 86–74 win over UT Arlington on Saturday in Orem. The Wolverines started fast, built a 46–28 halftime lead, and placed five players in double figures, led by 16 points from redshirt sophomore forward Jackson Holcombe. Redshirt junior guard Trevan Leonhardt added 14 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals to help UVU register its 22nd straight home victory, tying the longest home win streak in program history.

Leonhardt and Holcombe continue to anchor one of the most efficient and balanced profiles in the country. Leonhardt is one of only four Division I players averaging at least 11.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game, while Holcombe leads Utah Valley in scoring (16.1), rebounding (7.2), steals (2.2) and blocks (1.4) and ranks among the national leaders in field goal percentage. Redshirt sophomore guard Tyler Hendricks also remains among the nation's most accurate perimeter shooters, entering the week ranked second nationally in three-point percentage.

As a team, Utah Valley ranks among the national leaders in multiple categories, including No. 3 nationally in field goal percentage (52.2), No. 5 in assists per game (20.1), No. 12 in blocks per game (5.7) and No. 24 in scoring margin (+15.7). The Wolverines also lead the WAC in field goal percentage, assists, blocks, steals and scoring margin while holding opponents to 40.3 percent shooting.

Southern Utah (6–13, 2–4 WAC) continues a three-game homestand after back-to-back wins at home over Tarleton State (106–105 OT) and Abilene Christian (74–52), snapping a six-game skid in the process. The Thunderbirds have been far more effective in Cedar City, holding a 5–2 home record behind an up-tempo, perimeter-oriented attack. SUU ranks third in the WAC in scoring (76.8 ppg), first in three-point attempts (23.6 per game) and averages 7.7 made threes. Freshman guard Elijah Duval (11.9 ppg, 3.2 apg), forward Jaiden Feroah (12.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg) and shooter Tanner Hayhurst (9.7 ppg, .465 3FG) headline a balanced scoring group, while Feroah ranks among the national leaders in blocked shots.

Wednesday marks the 18th all-time meeting between the in-state foes, with Utah Valley leading the series 10–7 and winning the last five matchups, including an 89–72 victory in Orem on Jan. 8 earlier this season.

Following Wednesday's contest, Utah Valley will travel to Riverside to face California Baptist on Saturday before visiting Tarleton State on Jan. 29.
