LA JOLLA, Calif. — Utah Valley women's volleyball dropped the final match of its first Big West road trip, falling to UC San Diego 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-15) on Saturday at LionTree Arena. UC San Diego (8-9, 4-2 Big West) hit a season-best .420 as a team, committing just eight attack errors this evening. Gia Rivera paced the Tritons with 13 kills.

Utah Valley (4-14, 2-4 Big West) featured a balanced offensive effort. California native Miley Thunstrom led the Wolverines with seven kills, while Olivia Gloeckner and Brielle Rueckert each added six.

Evalyn Medaris recorded two kills, 21 assists and seven digs, leading Utah Valley in both assists and digs. Senior Lani Toutai contributed four assists and matched Medaris with seven digs.

The Wolverines also received a spark late in the third set from Kenna McClure at the service line. McClure helped fuel a 5-0 Utah Valley run and recorded one of the team's two service aces in the match.

The Tritons' .420 hitting percentage surpassed their previous season high of .293, which came against Saint Mary's earlier this season.
