OREM, Utah — Utah Valley senior Jose Luis Martin Montealegre has been named The Big West Offensive Player of the Week for the matchweek ending Oct. 11, the league announced in a press release on Monday.

Montealegre, a native of Malaga, Spain, had a goal contribution in each of Utah Valley's wins this week. Montealegre had the secondary assist on Luca Wingaa Laursen's opening goal against Cal State Fullerton, then had the final goal of Saturday's 3-0 triumph over Sacramento State.

Montealegre has been one of the team's top attacking threats this season, starting every game and leading the team in points with 11. Montealegre leads the team with four goals, while ranking second in assists with three.

Montealegre and the Wolverines hit the road for a Pac-12 crossover match this Wednesday for their third and final game against a reigning Big West regular season co-champion in the Cal Poly Mustangs. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. MDT, and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
