LAST TIME OUT

The Wolverines shut out the CSUN Matadors, 1-0 on Saturday for the team’s fifth clean sheet of the season. With the win, Utah Valley secured a top-two seed in The Big West Championships, guaranteeing home field advantage for at least the semifinals. The Wolverines could secure a share of the conference title as soon as Saturday if UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara play to a tie.

Trevor Walk scored his first goal of the season and first since his freshman year in the win. Walk is the 19th different player to contribute to a goal this season. The team record for a single season is 20, set in 2019.

Adem Arous assisted on Walk's goal vs CSUN, continuing Utah Valley's impressive streak of every goal this season being scored or assisted by an international player. UVU's top five point scorers are all international athletes (Montealegre, Grau, Watts, Arous, & Wingaa Laursen).

Jackson Medina kept his second straight clean sheet and third of the season, making 3 saves. Medina ranks fourth in the nation in goals against average at 0.50, allowing just 3 goals in 6 starts. Medina also ranks 8th in save percentage at .842.

SCOUTING THE AZTECS

SDSU comes into Wednesday’s game unbeaten in league play at 1-0-3, along with a 3-2-3 record at home. The Aztecs have yet to pick up a road win at 0-5-3, but have drawn at then-No. 21 Oregon State. Sophomores Nik Orth and Jaxson Hutcheon have been the team’s top offensive threats, with 5G/2A and 4G/3A respectively.

SERIES HISTORY VS SDSU

The Aztecs won the lone meeting between the two schools as conference opponents, 1-0 last fall at UCCU Stadium. UVU won the only other meeting back in 2017, 1-0 in San Diego. The home team has not won a game in the series.

UP NEXT
