NEW ORLEANS — Utah Valley's Morgan Nokes and the Wolverine cross country programs have been honored by the USTFCCCA for academic achievement during the 2025 season.
Nokes was named to the All-Academic team by the organization after posting a 4.0 GPA. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.
Nokes capped her storybook season with a 23rd place finish at the NCAA Championships in Columbia, Mo., back in November to become the program's second All-American. At the time, Nokes was just eight months postpartum after giving birth to her son, Theo, in March of 2025.
Nokes finished seventh at the NCAA Mountain Regionals to qualify for the national meet. Her finish was the second-best by any Wolverine runner at a regional behind only 2022 regional champion and fellow All-American Everlyn Kemboi. During the 2025 season, Nokes won a team-record five individual race titles, including the WAC Championship.
The UVU cross country programs were also awarded the USTFCCCA team academic award, given to the teams that recorded at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. The women's squad posted a 3.60 GPA, while the men's team recorded a 3.53 GPA.
