RENO, Nev. — Ella Hopper set the school record in the 400-meter and posted a new personal best in the 200-meter to lead the small contingent of Wolverines at the Wolf Pack Classic this weekend in Reno.
Hopper's time of 54.03 on Saturday topped her own record of 54.29, set last season at Idaho State. On Friday, Hopper also posted a new PR of 24.23 in the 200m, the second-best in indoor program history.
In the men's 200m on Friday, Gavin Stafford debuted in the top 10 at No. 8 with a time of 21.45. Kade Thompson posted a season-best of 21.14 in the same event.
Porter Westerlind tied for the top mark in the pole vault with a season-best 5.10m. Eddie Garcia took second overall in the weight throw at 16.86m, while Trevor Hill took second in the shot put with a mark of 16.33m.
Utah Valley closes out the indoor regular season next weekend at the Mountain State Games, hosted by Idaho State on Feb. 13-14 in Pocatello, Idaho.
