CLEVELAND — Utah Valley University saw its season end on day two of the 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championships at Rocket Arena on Friday. Four Wolverines entered the day still in the tournament before all four lost their opening matches to close out the season.

The Wolverines tied for the second-most NCAA qualifiers in program history this season, sending five student-athletes to this week's championships including three seniors who wrapped up their collegiate careers on Friday.

Haiden Drury, Jack Forbes and David Evans all qualified in their final season of eligibility, while Kael Bennie and Caleb Uhlenhopp will both be back to vie for a second berth next season. For Drury, it was the second time qualifying for Washington native, the lone representative from his state in the Championships.

"I'm proud of our overall growth this season. Although we did not accomplish our goal of getting onto the podium, I'm grateful for Haiden, David, and Jack for how much they put into our program," said second-year head coach Adam Hall. "Caleb and Kael gained valuable experience this weekend and will be hungry this offseason. I'm also excited about our incoming freshmen and the rest of our team that has been putting in time this year. Our staff expects to have healthy competition this coming year and for the program to make another jump. Lastly, I want to shout out our loyal fans, families, and donors for all of their support. Go Wolverines!"

Drury lost his match on Friday to the No. 13 seed Wyatt Henson of Lock Haven in a 5-0 decision. Drury finishes his career with 82 wins in a Wolverine singlet and 91 for his collegiate career, which started at Fresno State. Drury won a career-best 22 matches this season.

Forbes capped his career with two wins at the NCAA Championships, giving him 21 victories this season and 60 for his career that came all in Wolverine green. On Friday he dropped his match to No. 20 Dayton Pitzer of Pitt in a 19-4 technical fall (6:11).

In his one season at Utah Valley, Evans certainly left his mark on the program with a 21-win season that saw him pick up wins over two of the four semifinalists in the country at 149 pounds. His final match came against North Dakota State's Max Petersen in a fall (4:21) for the Bison wrestler.

Uhlenhopp, like Forbes, also won two matches at the NCAA Championships and has one year of eligibility remaining. He finished with 18 wins and capped his season by going 4-4 during the Big 12 and NCAA Championships with all eight matches coming against qualifiers. On Friday, Uhlenhopp lost a tough 4-2 decision to No. 15 Sal Perrine of Ohio.

Bennie finished his redshirt-sophomore campaign with 15 wins and one of the more difficult schedules in the country. Of his 33 matches this season, 22 came against NCAA qualifiers.
