GREENWOOD, Ind. – College Sports Communicators announced its annual Academic All-District Team® on Tuesday morning. Four Wolverines earned the honor, led by three-time honoree
Kylee Mabry, with
Saige Gibb and
Halle Nelson earning the honor for the second time, and
Cambree Blackham becoming a first-time honoree.
"I'm so proud of what these four have accomplished both on and off the court," said UVU head coach
Dan Nielson. "They have worked so hard to grow our program, all while excelling in the classroom and creating opportunities for themselves beyond basketball. They truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete!"
Mabry earned the honor for the third time in her career after finishing with 112 games played in her UVU career, which places her eighth all-time on the games played list. The Kaysville, Utah, native recorded 216 career steals to place second on the steals list. She is set to finish her degree in UVU's exercise science program. The 2025 WAC Co-Sixth Player of the Year leaves the Wolverines program as a three-time Academic All-WAC selection.
Gibb is a three-time Academic All-WAC selection, earning the honor for the second time in her career. She is studying health sciences at Utah Valley and, on the court, scored a season-high 14 points against Idaho State in December, after also reaching that mark against La Sierra. The Cardston, Alberta, native set new career highs in points per game, steals and rebounds.
Nelson earns the honor for the second time while at Utah Valley University and will graduate with a Master of Business Administration in April. The American Fork native leaves UVU as one of the top rebounders in school history, holding top-10 marks in total rebounds, offensive rebounds and offensive rebounds per game. Her season-high 18 points helped the Wolverines past Cal State Bakersfield in the season opener, and she had 12 rebounds three times this season, including against Utah, California Baptist and UT Arlington.
Sophomore Blackham earned second-team All-WAC honors and a spot on the WAC All-Defensive Team. She earns the honor for the first time in her career after receiving Academic All-WAC honors in 2025. On the court, she set UVU's single-season steals record with 84 and increased her PPG to 9.4, adding 4.2 assists per game to help the Wolverines offense. She set a season-high with 19 points twice this season, both games in Texas against UT Arlington and Tarleton State.
Academics remain a pillar of the Utah Valley women's basketball program, as seven earned Academic All-WAC honors during the 2024-25 season. The program was also honored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) for having the 10th-best GPA among women's basketball programs for the 2024-25 season.
