Utah Valley Wraps Season Series with Weber State on Tuesday

3/30/2026 4:00:00 PM

Wolverine Softball returns to Utah for the next five games, beginning with a midweek matchup against in-state rival Weber State on Tuesday afternoon in Ogden.

First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. MDT, and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+. Live stats will be available at weberstatesports.com.

LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley will look to get right after being swept at California Baptist over the weekend and dropping its last five. The Wolverines lost 3-0, 3-2 in 11 innings, and 6-3 in Riverside.

QUICK HITTERS
UVU has scored at least four runs in each of its wins so far this season, good for a 19-5 record when reaching that threshold. The Wolverines have played from ahead most of the season, scoring first in 19 games (17-2) and scoring in the first inning 15 times (13-2). UVU didn't score first in any games last week, and hasn't held a lead since walking off Utah Tech on March 21.

In two games vs WSU this season, Gr. CF Angelique Mann has been the big bopper for UVU, going 4-for-6 with a HR, two 2Bs, four RBIs, and two runs scored. Mann had the walk-off double for UVU in March 17's run-rule win. Sr. Britney Moreno wasn't far behind, going 4-for-7 with two 3Bs, five RBIs, and two runs.

UVU's pitching has kept the WSU bats guessing for the better part of the previous two matchups, holding them to just two ER allowed over 12 IP. Fr. RHP Ella Miller has had the bulk of that success, tossing seven innings, allowing four runs, with only one being earned.

SERIES HISTORY VS WEBER STATE
UVU and WSU have met 42 times since the Wildcats reinstated their softball program in 2010, and have played or been scheduled to play every year since. The series is tied at 21 games apiece.

UVU won the first two meetings this season, 6-4 in St. George and 9-1 in five innings in Orem. WSU swept the series 2-0 last season. Over the last 13 meetings since 2020, neither team has won more than two in a row in the series. UVU hasn't won three in a row over WSU since 2013 when the two teams were conference rivals in the PCSC. Only nine of the previous 42 meetings have been run-rules, seven of which went in favor of the Wolverines.

BIG WEEKEND ON TAP FOR THE WOLVERINES
Utah Valley will look to keep pace in the WAC standings this weekend when the Wolverines host UT Arlington in Orem on Friday and Saturday. UTA is coming off a pair of series wins, including taking two out of three from preseason favorites Tarleton State. UVU took two out of three from the Mavs in Orem last season.
