ARLINGTON, Texas — Utah Valley freshman Sila Kiplagat has been named the WAC Track Athlete of the Week for the meet week ending April 5, the league announced in a press release on Wednesday.

A native of Iten, Kenya, Kiplagat set his third school record of the year on Friday at the Stanford Invitational, posting a time of 3:40.74 in the 1500-meter that leads the WAC so far this season. Kiplagat also posted two school records in the mile and 3000-meter during indoor season.

Kiplagat and the Wolverines will be in action this weekend at a pair of local meets hosted by Weber State on Friday and Utah on Saturday. Utah Valley will also have a handful of athletes competing at the Bryan Clay Multis in Azusa, Calif., beginning on Thursday.
