OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University director of athletics Dr. Jared Sumsion has announced the hiring of Mindee Graver as the department's associate athletic director for finance and business operations, effective June 1.

Graver joins the athletics department after four years in the university's travel office. Most recently, she served as UVU's travel manager, a position she held beginning in January 2024. Prior to that role, she worked as travel card coordinator from July 2022 until her promotion to manager.

"We're delighted to welcome Mindee Graver to athletics and to see her time at UVU come full circle, from student-athlete to a key member of our senior staff," Sumsion said. "Her years spent working in the travel office will help make the transition to athletics seamless. She's joining the department as an exciting time as we make the move to the Big West Conference, and we're elated to have Mindee and her family join the athletics family."

A former student-athlete on the women's soccer team at Utah Valley from 1999–2000, Graver brings a strong athletics background to the position. She also served as a track and field coach and assistant soccer coach at Spanaway Lake High School in Washington while working as the school's college and career counselor from 2018–2022.

"Utah Valley University has shaped so much of my personal and professional journey, beginning with my time as a student-athlete on the soccer team," Graver said. "Moving into athletics feels especially meaningful because it brings me back to where my UVU story started. I'm excited to continue serving the university, supporting our student-athletes and contributing to the continued success of Wolverine Athletics."

"I'm also incredibly grateful for my time in Procurement and Travel, where I had the opportunity to learn from amazing colleagues, build lasting friendships and grow both personally and professionally. The people I worked alongside made even the hardest days meaningful and enjoyable, and I will always appreciate the support, knowledge and memories from that chapter of my career at UVU."

Graver and her husband, Ben, a fellow UVU graduate, are the parents of five children — two daughters and three sons. Originally from the Seattle area in Washington state, she also lived in Pennsylvania for several years and is an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. She currently resides in Orem with her husband and three of their children.
