5/29/2026 5:05:00 PM

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Utah Valley's men's athletes concluded their season on Friday with six athletes competing across the 4x100-meter relay, 1500-meter, and steeplechase.

The Wolverines' relay squad of Garrett Nelson, Caidan Cooper, Kade Thompson, and Gavin Stafford posted a new program top-10 time of 39.81, the eighth-fastest all-time, to finish in 19th. All 10 of the program's fastest 4x1 times have come in the last three seasons, and nine of them in the last two.

Sila Kiplagat capped off his impressive freshman season with a 22nd-place finish in the 1500-meter run, running a time of 3:49.28 to take 11th in his heat. Kiplagat was recently named the WAC Athlete and Freshman of the Year, and was the first men's athlete in program history to sweep the Freshman of the Year awards across cross country, indoor, and outdoor.

Cameron Jacobs took 10th in his heat and 22nd overall in his first trip to regionals. Jacobs ran a time of 8:49.92, about a second behind his personal best of 8:48.90 set earlier this season at Stanford. Jacobs was the WAC Champion in the steeplechase last season and was the runner-up in this season.

Utah Valley will have three women's athletes in action tomorrow on the final day of regionals. Grace Degarimore will compete in the discus beginning at 12 p.m. MT, then Caren Kipsirat will run in the steeplechase at 4:40. Morgan Nokes will be the final Wolverine in action in the 5,000-meter at 7:10. The two running events will be streamed live on ESPN+.
