Utah Valley Volleyball Set for Pair of Exhibition Matches This Weekend

OREM, Utah — Utah Valley women's volleyball will play a pair of exhibition matches this weekend, beginning with a home contest against Division II Colorado Mesa on Friday at 6 p.m. MT inside Lockhart Arena. The Wolverines will wrap up the weekend Saturday against Idaho State at Ogden High School, with first serve set for 2 p.m. MT.
 
Both matches are free and open to the public. No broadcast or live statistics will be available.
 
ABOUT COLORADO MESA
Colorado Mesa finished the 2025 season with a 17-11 overall record and spent much of the early season ranked in the AVCA Division II Top 25 Poll, climbing as high as No. 18. Henley Madsen returns as the Mavericks' top hitter after recording 208 kills and averaging 2.74 kills per set last season. Sophomore setter Ashlyn Tafoya will lead the offense after totaling 719 assists in 2025. Several Utah natives are expected to return to their home state for the matchup, including Lauren Waters (Highland), Marli Clausi (Salt Lake City), Macy Wood (Sandy), Maya Grant (Salt Lake City), Henley Madsen (Park City) and Hallie Hewlett (Bountiful).
 
ABOUT IDAHO STATE
 Idaho State finished the 2025 season with a 13-18 overall record and a 7-9 mark in Big Sky Conference play. The Bengals made a strong run in the conference tournament, defeating top-seeded Northern Arizona and Weber State before their postseason run came to an end. The Bengals were picked to finish tied for third in the 2026 Big Sky Coaches Poll. Big Sky All-Conference Second Team selection Jaydin Watts returns at middle blocker after posting 124 total blocks last season. Watts also recorded nine kills against Utah Valley during the teams' last meeting in 2023.
