OREM—Riding a three-match winning streak and fresh off the OUTRIGGER No Ka Oi title in Hawai'i, Utah Valley returns home to UCCU Stadium to host Pac-12 foe San Diego State on Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. MT, with the match broadcast live on ESPN+.

Utah Valley enters the match with a 3-2-1 record after winning three straight, including back-to-back shutouts in Honolulu. The Wolverines defeated Washington State 1-0 before rolling past New Mexico State 4-0 to finish a perfect 2-0 at the OUTRIGGER No Ka Oi. UVU outscored its two opponents 5-0 and held a 40-11 advantage in shots during the tournament.

The two wins followed Utah Valley's 2-1 victory over No. 17 Kansas on Aug. 27 at UCCU Stadium. UVU has outscored its opponents 7-1 during its current three-match winning streak and has not allowed a goal in its last 180 minutes.

Freshman goalkeeper Madeleine Boucher was named MVP of the OUTRIGGER No Ka Oi after recording consecutive clean sheets. Boucher played all 180 minutes in Hawai'i and made six saves without allowing a goal. Kate Booth, Ashley Garcia, Nixan Jackson and Mia Owens joined Boucher on the All-Tournament Team.

Owens was also named The Big West Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring a Wolverine back line that did not concede a goal during the tournament. The senior played all 180 minutes as UVU limited Washington State and New Mexico State to 11 combined shots and six shots on goal. The award is Utah Valley's first Big West women's soccer weekly honor.

Boucher has been impressive through her first five collegiate appearances, posting a 3-0-1 record with a 0.45 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage. She has made 18 saves while allowing just two goals in 402:10 of action.

Utah Valley has featured a balanced attack through its first six matches, with eight different Wolverines accounting for the team's eight goals. Jackson leads UVU with four points on one goal and two assists, while Sadie Beardall and Garcia each have three points. Freshman Sam Curtis leads the team with three assists and ranks second with 12 shots. Josie Clawson leads the Wolverines with 14 shots.

The Wolverines return to UCCU Stadium after playing away from Orem for the first time this season. UVU is 1-2-1 at home against a challenging slate that has included Michigan, Utah, Utah State and No. 17/14 Kansas.

ABOUT SAN DIEGO STATE

San Diego State enters Saturday's match with an identical 3-2-1 record. The Aztecs are coming off a two-match road swing through the Big 12, playing Oklahoma State to a 1-1 draw before falling 2-1 at Texas Tech. SDSU opened the season by winning three of its first four matches, picking up victories over UC San Diego, Portland State and Pacific, including a 7-0 win over Pacific.

The Aztecs have scored 12 goals while allowing just four through six matches. SDSU is averaging 2.00 goals and 14.2 shots per match while holding opponents to 0.67 goals and 10.2 shots per contest. The Aztecs have recorded three shutouts and hold a 29-18 advantage in corner kicks. Texas Tech became the first opponent to score against SDSU in open play this season, as the Aztecs' first two goals allowed came on penalty kicks against No. 10 Washington and Oklahoma State.

Katie Senn leads the San Diego State attack with three goals and seven points. Kenny Moore has two goals and a team-high two game winners, while Victoria Miller and Naima Castro have also scored twice. Alexyz Nakamoto leads the Aztecs with three assists, while Alexis Leath has a goal and two assists.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kailey Carlen has started all six matches and owns a 0.68 goals-against average with 16 saves and an .800 save percentage. Carlen was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week after recording a four-save shutout in SDSU's season-opening 2-0 win at UC San Diego.

San Diego State is led by 20th-year head coach Mike Friesen, who owns a 207-128-58 career record with the Aztecs. Friesen has guided SDSU to 11 conference championships and five NCAA Tournament appearances during his tenure. The Aztecs were picked fourth in the Pac-12 preseason coaches poll.

SERIES HISTORY

Utah Valley and San Diego State are tied 1-1-0 in the all-time series. Saturday's match will mark the third meeting between the two programs and the first played in Orem. The previous two meetings were played in San Diego.

The Wolverines won the most recent meeting, defeating the Aztecs 4-2 on Sept. 22, 2024, at the SDSU Sports Deck. Utah Valley led 1-0 at halftime before scoring three times in the second half to secure the victory. San Diego State won the first meeting between the programs, 6-0, on Aug. 21, 2015.
