OREM—Utah Valley returns home Saturday night to close out non-conference play against in-state foe Weber State at UCCU Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., with the match broadcast live on ESPN+.
Utah Valley enters the match with a 3-4-1 record after dropping a 2-1 decision at Gonzaga on Wednesday night in Spokane. The Wolverines pulled within a goal just before halftime and controlled much of the second half, outshooting the Bulldogs 8-1 over the final 45 minutes, but were unable to find the equalizer.
Saturday's match will be Utah Valley's final tune-up before opening its first-ever season as a member of The Big West next week. The Wolverines have earned wins over No. 17/14 Kansas, Washington State and New Mexico State during non-conference play and enter Saturday with a 1-3-1 record at UCCU Stadium.
Kate Booth leads Utah Valley with two goals and is tied with Nixan Jackson for the team lead with four points. Nine of UVU's 10 goals this season have been scored by eight different players, with Booth the only Wolverine to score multiple goals. UVU's other goal came on an own goal at Gonzaga.
Freshman Sam Curtis leads the Wolverines with three assists and ranks second on the team with 14 shots. Josie Clawson leads UVU with 16 shots and eight shots on goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Madeleine Boucher owns a 0.93 goals-against average and an .806 save percentage through seven appearances. Boucher has made 25 saves while allowing six goals in 582:10 of action and has recorded two shutouts.
Utah Valley has outshot its opponents 105-86 through eight matches and holds a 49-29 advantage in corner kicks. The Wolverines have been particularly active after halftime, outshooting opponents 61-43 in the second half while holding a 30-16 advantage in second-half corner kicks.
Weber State enters Saturday's match with an identical 3-4-1 record and is looking to snap a two-match skid following one-goal losses to South Dakota State and UC Santa Barbara. The Wildcats own wins over Wyoming, Oregon State and Pacific and opened the season with a scoreless draw at Utah.
Lily Blum leads Weber State with five points on two goals and one assist, while Simone Packer has also scored twice. Oakley Anderson leads the Wildcats with 17 shots, including 12 on goal. Goalkeeper Lauren Butorac has made 37 saves with a 1.77 goals-against average and two shutouts.
Weber State is led by second-year head coach Kyle Christensen, who spent 10 seasons on the Utah Valley coaching staff, including his final three seasons as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. During his time in Orem, Christensen helped lead UVU to four NCAA Tournament appearances, four WAC regular-season championships and three WAC Tournament titles.
Utah Valley trails Weber State 6-4-0 in the all-time series but has won each of the last three meetings. The Wolverines earned a 4-3 victory in Ogden last season after defeating the Wildcats 5-0 in Orem in 2024 and 3-0 in Ogden in 2021. Saturday's match will mark the 11th meeting between the two in-state programs.
Following Saturday's match, Utah Valley will turn its attention to its inaugural season in The Big West, with conference play beginning Sept. 23 against Cal State Bakersfield. Tickets for all home matches are available at GoUVU.com/GetTix.
