COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Tyler Ewell fired a 6-under-par 66 on Sunday to lead Utah Valley in the second round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at Eisenhower Golf Club.

Ewell made an eagle and seven birdies during his second round to move 30 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 16th at 2-under-par 142 (76-66). After playing the front nine at 2-under-par 34, Ewell closed with a 4-under 32 on the back nine. His round was highlighted by an eagle on the 640-yard par-5 fifth hole.

"Tyler played some excellent golf today," Utah Valley head coach Chris Curran said. "He holed out for eagle on five and that really jump-started his round. We stumbled as a team, but we will look to climb back up tomorrow."

Utah Valley, which entered Sunday tied for the team lead after an opening-round 8-under-par 280, carded a second-round 9-over-par 297 and sits in 10th place on the 18-team leaderboard at 1-over-par 577 (280-297).

Colorado leads the field at 18-under-par 558 (280-278), while Wyoming, Denver and UC Davis are tied for second at 6-under-par 570.

Ty Brady remains the highest Wolverine on the individual leaderboard after shooting a 1-under-par 71 on Sunday. Brady is tied for eighth at 4-under-par 140 (69-71) through 36 holes.

Ewell is two shots behind Brady in a tie for 16th at 2-under-par 142.

Dylan Winona is tied for 53rd at 4-over-par 148 (68-80), while KJ Ofahengaue and Isaiah Ellis are tied for 75th at 8-over-par 152. Ofahengaue has carded rounds of 72 and 80, while Ellis has posted scores of 71 and 81.

Utah Valley also has two players competing in the separate Gene Miranda Individual tournament at Eisenhower Golf Club. Elliot Bond shot a 2-under-par 70 on Sunday and is eighth at 1-under-par 143 (73-70) through two rounds. George Goff carded a 1-over-par 73 and is tied for 17th at 6-over-par 150 (77-73).

The Wolverines will wrap up the 54-hole Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational with Monday's final round on the par-72, 7,595-yard Eisenhower Blue Course. Utah Valley will be paired with San Jose State and UTEP and will tee off from No. 1 beginning at 9 a.m. MT.

Winona will lead off for UVU at 9 a.m., followed by Ewell at 9:09, Ellis at 9:18, Ofahengaue at 9:27 and Brady at 9:36.
