OREM, Utah — For the second season in a row, Utah Valley is receiving votes in at least one of the major national polls, falling just outside the top 25 in both the United Soccer Coaches and College Soccer News polls.

The Wolverines are the first team out of the United Soccer Coaches poll and are the ninth team out in the CSN poll. It's the first time Utah Valley has received votes in a national poll since the last poll of September in 2025. The Wolverines also enter the week 15th in the NCAA's RPI rankings.

UVU is aiming to return to the top 25 for the second season in a row after ending an eight-year hiatus last fall when the Wolverines reached as high as No. 16 in the United Soccer Coaches poll. Prior to that, Utah Valley had not been ranked since the second week of the 2017 season.

The Wolverines' defense has been stellar to start the season, allowing just one open-play goal through the team's first four matches and recording a pair of shutouts against Central Arkansas and at Santa Clara. Utah Valley enters the week leading The Big West and ranking 11th in the nation in team goals-against average at 0.50. 

The Wolverines will have a prime opportunity to improve their rankings on Friday when they travel to Huntington, W.V. to face the No. 20/12 Marshall Thundering Herd at Hoops Family Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. MDT, and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
