UVU Athletics supports over 300 student-athletes who compete on the 16 intercollegiate athletic teams sponsored by the university.
As a member of the UVU Athletic Marketing team, you will have the opportunity to work in association with student-athletes, coaches, administration, corporate partners, donors, and fans.

  • Summary of essential job functions
    • Make appearances to UVU sporting events, UVU campus events, and community events as both a Team Willy Mascot Performer and as a Team Willy Mascot Manager
    • Assist in the management of the storage and organization of all Team Willy equipment
    • Serve as a key resource to department staff on a wide variety of Mascot needs
    • Continuously assess marketing strategies and apply industry practices for mascot engagement while staying up-to-date on industry trends and ensuring that UVU remains at the forefront of the mascot landscape
    • Perform other marketing and promotions related duties as assigned
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Good interpersonal skills, judgement, and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience
    • Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment
    • Effective time management skills
  • Qualifications
    • One or more years of work experience in mascot management, marketing, or another related field
  • Physical Requirements
    • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks
    • Frequently stand/walk/run and reach/work above shoulders
    • Occasionally sit, twist/bend/stoop/squat
    • Must be able to wear a mascot suit for extended periods of time
    • Must be able to communicate with patrons non-verbally
    • Must be able to engage with patrons in a way that represents Utah Valley University
    • Must be able to learn the Willy the Wolverine signature
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 Ibs
  • Working Conditions
    • Must be able to attend Mandatory Staff Meeting on Monday’s & Wednesday from 9:00am – 9:50am
    • Office hours will be scheduled during regular business hours (8am – 5pm) and will be set by direct supervisor
    • Work on weekends, evenings, holidays, and flexible shifts
    • Work indoors and outdoors (hot temperature, cold temperature, wind, rain, snow, shine)

    • $10.00 - $16.00 or scholarship (amount TBD)
