DEFINED TERMS

For purposes of this Policy:

• “Agency” refers to a media outlet, sponsor, partner, contractor, or employer represented by the Holder. 
• “Credential” refers to a limited-use, revocable pass issued by UVU Athletics, providing conditional access to specified Venues. Non-transferable.
• “Event” refers to any UVU Athletics competition, practice, media event, or related activity, on or off campus.
• “Holder” refers to the Individual to whom the Credential is issued.
• “License” refers to the limited, revocable permission granted to the Holder to access the designated Event under this Agreement.
• “Organizer” refers to UVU Athletics, the NCAA, conference(s), or other affiliated organizations.
• “Policy” refers to the UVU Athletics Credential Use Policy.
• “Restricted Zone” refers to any non-public area designated by UVU, including but not limited to VIP zones, working zones, media zones, corporate partner zones, and team zones.
• “Venue” refers to any facility or location where an official UVU Athletics Event is hosted.
• “UVU” refers to Utah Valley University and its affiliates.

ACCESS LEVELS & CREDENTIAL TYPES

All Access (ALL ACCESS)

Reserved for UVU Athletics leadership and top-level operational personnel. Grants access to all areas within the Venue, including VIP zones, working zones, media zones, corporate partner zones, team zones*, and most other Restricted Zones. Does not serve as a reserved seat Ticket but permits general admission seating when available.

Working Staff (WORKING)

Reserved for UVU Athletics Event working staff. Grants access to working zones, media zones, corporate partner zones, and team zones*. No access to VIP zones and other Restricted Zones unless specifically escorted or authorized. Does not serve as a reserved seat Ticket but permits general admission seating when available.

Team Staff (TEAM)

Reserved for UVU Athletics Event team and support staff. Grants access to team zones. No access to VIP zones, working zones, media zones, corporate partner zones, or any other Restricted Zone unless specifically escorted or authorized. Does not serve as a reserved seat Ticket but permits general admission seating when available. 

Internal Access (INTERNAL)

Reserved for UVU Athletics employees and auxiliary staff. Grants access to general public areas within the Venue. No access to VIP zones, working zones, media zones, corporate partner zones, team zones, or any other Restricted Zone unless specifically escorted or authorized. Does not serve as a reserved seat Ticket but permits general admission seating when available.

Media (MEDIA)

Reserved for media outlets and team scouts. Grants access to media zones only. No access to VIP zones, working zones, corporate partner zones, team zones, or any other Restricted Zone unless specifically escorted or authorized. Does not serve as a reserved seat Ticket but permits seating in designated areas within media zones and general admission seating when available.

Corporate Partner (PARTNER)

Reserved for business development and corporate partners. Grants access to corporate partner zones only. No access to VIP zones, working zones, media zones, team zones, or any other Restricted Zone unless specifically escorted or authorized. Does not serve as a reserved seat Ticket but permits general admission seating when available.

Guest (GUEST)

Reserved for guests of Utah Valley University Athletics. Grants access to general public areas within the Venue. No access to VIP zones, working zones, media zones, corporate partner zones, team zones, or any other Restricted Zone unless specifically escorted or authorized. Does not serve as a reserved seat Ticket but permits general admission seating when available.
 
*Team zone/locker room access by invitation only

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Ownership & Revocability
   • All Credentials remain the property of the Organizer and may be revoked at any time without notice.
   • The Credential constitutes a revocable License for limited access.
2. Non-Transferability
   • Credentials are issued solely to the Holder and may not be transferred, shared, duplicated, or altered.
   • Unauthorized use may result in revocation and removal from the Venue.
3. Media Use and Limitations (If Applicable)
   • Holders must be on official assignment for an accredited Agency.
   • Use of Event content (e.g., photos, videos, interviews) is limited to editorial and news purposes.
   • Commercial, advertising, or merchandising use requires prior written consent from the Organizer.
   • Media must comply with UVU, NCAA, and conference broadcast regulations.
4. UVU and Conference Rights
   • UVU and its conference retain all rights to Event content, logos, marks, and names.
   • Credentials grant only a limited, non-exclusive License for editorial use.
5. Purchase and Licensing of Photographs
   • The Organizer reserves the right to purchase published photographs at prevailing third-party rates.
   • The Organizer may use such images for editorial purposes at no additional cost. 
   • Resale or sublicensing by the Organizer requires written permission from the Holder or Agency.
6. Conduct and Security
   • Holder must follow all Venue rules, security procedures, and instructions from Event staff.
   • Credentials must be worn visibly at all times while in the Venue.
   • Possession of a Credential does not exempt the Holder from standard security screening.
7. Assumption of Risk
   • Holder voluntarily assumes all risks associated with attendance or work at the Event, including those from access to playing surfaces or congested areas.
   • Organizer is not responsible for injury, property damage, or loss.
8. Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) Waiver
   • By using the Credential, the Holder consents to the use of their name, image, and likeness for promotional, editorial, or archival purposes.
9. Indemnification
   • Holder and/or Agency agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the Holder’s actions, negligence, or breach of this Policy.

ZONE DESIGNATIONS

For purposes of this Policy, UVU Athletics Venue zones are defined below:

VIP Zones

Any premium seat or VIP hospitality area. Includes, but is not limited to: Lockhart Arena Matside Seating areas (wrestling only), Lockhart Arena VIP Hospitality areas, UCCU Ballpark Suites, UCCU Ballpark VIP Hospitality areas, UCCU Center Courtside Seating areas (men's basketball only), UCCU Center VIP Hospitality areas, UCCU Center Matside Seating areas (wrestling only), and UCCU Stadium Suite Level (3rd level).

Working Zones

Any operational or production area. Includes, but is not limited to: media production booths, staging areas, broadcast booths, back-of-house hallways and storage areas, and any other designated working areas. 

Media Zones

Any press/media table, media rooms, or designated seating area. 

Corporate Partner Zones

Any area designated for corporate partner relations and activities.

Team Zones

All locker rooms and designated back-of-house hallways.

Restricted Zone

Any non-public area designated by UVU.
