Rosbie Mutcherson enters his second season as an assistant coach for Utah Valley.
Mutcherson helped the Wolverines to a 16-16 overall record in 2023-24 by winning seven of their final nine games to finish the year with a .500 mark. The Wolverines finished WAC regular season play by winning seven of its final eight games, including a Texas road sweep of Tarleton State and Abilene Christian to finish in a tie for fourth place in the WAC standings with an 11-9 record last season, marking the third time in the last four seasons that the Wolverines have finished in the top-4 of the WAC standings. Mutcherson helped lead UVU to an impressive 4-2 record against in-state opponents last season, picking up wins over Weber State, Southern Utah (twice), and Utah Tech.
Mutcherson came to UVU after working two seasons as an assistant coach at Idaho State. Mutcherson’s duties at Idaho State included scouting, recruiting, social media, guard development, community engagement, video operations, and NCAA eligibility. He was also a name, image, and likeness liaison.
Prior to his time at Idaho State, Mutcherson was the director of video operations for the Cleveland State men’s basketball program. He helped the Vikings to a Horizon League regular season championship. The Vikings also won the Horizon League Tournament and earned a spot in the 2021 NCAA Tournament for the third time in school history, and first since 2009.
In 2019-20, Mutcherson joined the Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) as an assistant coach. While at SLCC, Mutcherson worked with the guards and served as the team’s offensive coordinator. The Bruins finished the 2019-20 season with an impressive 29-4 record and a region championship. The Bruins earned the No. 4 overall seed at the NJCAA Tournament.
Mutcherson also worked two seasons as an assistant coach at Northwest Florida State College. In his three years at the NJCAA level, Mutcherson helped maintain a 100% graduation rate. He was also part of two NJCAA Elite Eight appearances, three straight region/conference championships, three NJCAA First Team All-American selections, and one National Player of the Year.
The Martinez, Georgia native played collegiately at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia where he earned his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies. He also earned a master’s degree in business administration from Crown College in 2019.
