Kaleb John-Lewis is entering his third season as the head strength and conditioning coach for the Utah Valley men’s basketball team. Since joining the program ahead of the 2023–24 season, John-Lewis has transformed UVU’s strength and performance program through a science-based approach focused on injury prevention, strength development, and overall athletic endurance.
Widely respected for his attention to detail and dedication to staying current with the latest trends in sports performance, John-Lewis has played a critical role in helping the Wolverines remain healthy and physically prepared throughout the rigors of conference play and postseason runs.
In 2024–25, his work contributed to one of the most successful seasons in program history. UVU went 25-9 overall, finished 15-1 in WAC play, won the outright WAC regular-season title, and earned the No. 1 seed in the WAC Tournament. The Wolverines advanced to their first-ever WAC Tournament championship game, earned their third all-time berth to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), and posted the program’s first-ever undefeated home record at 12-0.
In 2023–24, John-Lewis helped the Wolverines close the season strong, winning seven of their final nine games to finish 16-16 overall and 11-9 in WAC play. Utah Valley tied for fourth in the league standings and posted a 4-2 record against in-state opponents.
Prior to joining Utah Valley, John-Lewis served as the sports performance coach for the Stanford men’s basketball team during the 2022–23 season. He also worked with the Stanford football program during the offseason, further expanding his experience with elite-level athletes.
His background includes work at Ford Sports Performance in Bellevue, Washington, and the Seattle Sports Institute in Kirkland, Washington, where he trained athletes across a range of sports and competition levels. Known for his individualized approach, he tailors each athlete’s plan to maximize performance, mobility, and recovery.
John-Lewis earned his bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota. A native of the Pacific Northwest, he brings passion, innovation, and a relentless work ethic to the Wolverine program.
