Sebastian Hernandez enters his first season as a Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Utah Valley Men’s Basketball team.
Hernandez joins UVU after spending the last four years at Florida State University as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the women’s basketball program. While at FSU, the team qualified for the NCAA tournament all four years, played in the ACC Championship game, and finished the 2017-2020 seasons in the Top-25.
In 2017, Hernandez worked as an intern for the University of Miami where he aided in the supervision and implementation of the strength and conditioning programs for men's and women's Basketball.
Prior to his experience at Miami, Hernandez spent three years as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Freedom Christian Academy, where he was directly responsible for all 22 sports.
Hernandez graduated from Florida State University in 2019 with his bachelor’s in sport management. In 2020, he received his master’s in exercise science from Concordia University Chicago.
Hernandez is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Natives of Miami, Florida, he and his wife, Stephanie, currently reside in Orem.
