Seena Namdar enters his third season with the Utah Valley men’s basketball program and his first as Director of Recruiting in 2026-27. After serving as a graduate assistant for the previous two seasons, Namdar was promoted following his instrumental role in the Wolverines’ recruiting efforts, player development, and day-to-day basketball operations.
During his two seasons on head coach Todd Phillips’ staff, Utah Valley has compiled a 50-18 overall record, posted a 29-5 mark in Western Athletic Conference play, won back-to-back outright WAC regular-season championships, advanced to consecutive WAC Tournament championship games, made back-to-back appearances in the National Invitation Tournament, and posted a 27-1 record at home. Namdar has played an integral role in recruiting, roster management, player development, scouting, and the daily operations of the program.
In 2025-26, Namdar helped guide Utah Valley to a 25-9 overall record and a 14-4 mark in WAC play as the Wolverines captured their second consecutive outright WAC regular-season championship. UVU became the first team in program history to win back-to-back outright conference titles and record consecutive 25-win seasons. The Wolverines earned the No. 1 seed in the WAC Tournament, advanced to the championship game for the second straight season, and made their second consecutive appearance in the National Invitation Tournament, hosting George Washington in the opening round at the UCCU Center.
Utah Valley finished the 2025-26 regular season with a perfect 15-0 home record and carried a 27-game home winning streak into the NIT, which ranked as the fourth-longest active streak in the nation at the time. The Wolverines also ranked among the national leaders in several statistical categories, finishing sixth in steals per game, seventh in assists per game and turnovers forced per game, ninth in blocks per game, and 11th in field goal percentage. UVU set single-season program records for assists, assists per game, scoring average, and field goal percentage while averaging 80.1 points per game.
In his first season at Utah Valley in 2024-25, Namdar helped the Wolverines finish 25-9 overall and 15-1 in WAC play, win the outright conference regular-season championship, and advance to the WAC Tournament championship game for the first time in program history. Utah Valley also earned a berth in the NIT and completed the first undefeated home season in program history with a 12-0 record.
Before arriving at Utah Valley, Namdar spent two seasons at Salt Lake Community College, serving as a volunteer assistant and later as special assistant to the head coach. During his time with the Bruins, SLCC posted a combined 59-9 record, won back-to-back Scenic West Athletic Conference championships, earned two NJCAA National Tournament appearances, and was consistently ranked among the nation’s top junior college programs.
A native of Sandy, Utah, Namdar played two seasons at Colorado Northwestern Community College, where he earned NJCAA All-Academic First Team honors and received the Region 18 Sportsmanship Award. He also worked as a trainer for Lace ’Em Up Basketball and graduated from Alta High School.
