Seth Trembly enters his first season as as an assistant coach on Kyle Beckerman's staff in 2021. It's his fifth season overall at Utah Valley after four seasons on the women's side.Â
Trembly helped lead the women's team to its third NCAA Tournament appearance this past season, including Utah Valley's athletics program's first-ever team NCAA Tournament win with a victory over No. 25 Memphis. The team also won a share of the WAC regular season title before capturing its third tournament title, the second time with Trembly on staff.Â
Trembly helped the Wolverines to the championship match of the WAC Tournament in 2019, marking the second time in his three seasons that UVU has played in the championship match. The 2019 Wolverines had the best RPI ranking in the WAC after playing one of the most difficult non-conference schedules in the nation. The Wolverines played three teams that finished with a top-15 or better national ranking during the 2019 season.
Trembly joined the Wolverine women's program in 2017 after working four years as an assistant coach for the men's team at UC San Diego where he most recently helped the team to its best record in program history (19-3-2) and a first place finish in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. His 2016 team also claimed the CCAA Tournament championship and made a run to the Final Four of the NCAA Division II Tournament. Trembly was a member of the UCSD staff that earned Western Region Coaching staff of the year in 2016. Trembly helped UCSD to four successive CCAA Tournament appearances and earned NCAA Championship berths in three of the past four years (2013, 2014, 2016).
Â
Trembly has also had coaching stints with the LA Galaxy OC, San Diego Surf, Albion Soccer Club, Colorado Rush Soccer Club and the Colorado Girls Soccer Academy. He was named the Cal South Coach of the Year in 2014 after leading the San Diego Surf to the U.S. Youth Soccer national title.

Trembly had an accomplished playing career at both the professional and international levels. He was part of the original 1999 class at the Bradenton (Fla.) Academy. A member of the U.S. U-17 national team residency program, he trained with future team USA regulars Landon Donovan, DaMarcus Beasley, Kyle Beckerman, Oguichi Onyewu and Bobby Convey. That side placed fourth at the 1999 FIFA U-17 World Championship in New Zealand, with Trembly starting four of six games at left back. It later earned the title of U.S. Soccer's Team of the Decade.
Â
In 1999, Trembly signed a Project-40 contract with Major League Soccer (MLS), known these days as Generation adidas, and was allocated to his hometown team, the Colorado Rapids. He appeared in 52 matches for the Rapids through the 2004 campaign. From there, Trembly joined the expansion Real Salt Lake, scoring twice in 22 games played over 2005-06. He received the RSL Humanitarian of the Year award for 2006, and finished his competitive career with the Montreal Impact, then of the United Soccer League (USL), in 2007.

A native of Littleton, Colo., Trembly attended Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colo., after returning home from the Bradenton Academy. Having signed a professional contract with the Rapids in between his junior and senior years, he trained with the club while at the same time completing his high school curriculum.
