Ambur Orozco enters her second season of coaching on Nikki Palmer's staff in 2017.

During her inaugural year, Orozco helped the Wolverines to a first-round victory at the 2016 WAC Tournament as well as shatter a number of school records.  

Orozco comes to Utah Valley following a four-year playing career at Utah State. The former outfielder led the Aggies in stolen bases during her freshman season and finished second on the team in stolen bags in both her junior and senior campaigns.

A native of Kingsburg, California, Orozco earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science from Utah State University in May of 2015.

2015 (SR)
: Played in 39 games, making 24 starts in the outfield... Hit .203 with 12 hits in 59 at-bats... Had two hits in games Scored 11 runs, batting in another three... Was second on the team in stolen bases with three successful attempts... Defensively, added 30 putouts with two assists for a .941 fielding percentage.
 
2014 (JR): Played in the outfield in 43 games, making 27 starts... Had 13 hits in 63 at bats for a .206 batting average... Had one double at San Diego State (April 19)... Had three multi-hit games on the season... Had 17 runs and one RBI... Walked seven times... Recorded 40 putouts with a season-best four twice, against San Diego State (April 18) and Utah (May 6)... Added three assists, earning a .977 fielding percentage... Tied for second on the team with four stolen bases.
 
2013 (SO): Started 17 games, seeing most of her action in right field, and appeared in 30 games... Recorded 10 hits out of 49 at bats for a .204 batting average... Had one double... Posted back-to-back multi-hit games against Weber State (March 13) and Boise State (March 15)... Finished the season third on the team with four stolen bases... Recorded 13 putouts with a season-high three coming against New Mexico (March 1).
 
2012 (FR): Appeared in 32 games, starting eight... Tied for a team-leading three stolen bases... Split time between left field and right field... Scored six runs.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-year letterwinner at Kingsburg (Calif.) High School... Varsity Team Champions in 2010... Also played volleyball and soccer, starting three years for high school soccer team.
 
PERSONAL: Daughter of Robert and Robin Orozco... Has two sisters... Graduated in May, 2015 with a degree in exercise science.
