Michael Shreeve enters his third season at Utah Valley after joining the staff in the summer of 2022 after one season at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Prior to that, Shreeve was on staff at Brigham Young University.
Since joining the Utah Valley staff, he has helped the Wolverines improve from a 10-win season in 2023-24 to a program-record 19 wins in 2024-25. That season, UVU made its second postseason appearance with an invitation to the 2025 WNIT. The Wolverines continued to make history by defeating Air Force in the opening round, securing the program’s first-ever postseason victory and advancing to the second round.
During his time at UVU, Shreeve has assisted in the development of one All-Defensive Team selection, one All-Freshman honoree, and nine Academic All-WAC award winners.
At Rice, Shreeve was the program's video coordinator, helping the team to 14 wins including a victory in the Conference USA Tournament. During his time in Houston, he led and assisted in many different areas. He was responsible for creating scouting reports on opponents, while also leading the film breakdown of practices, games, and player development. Shreeve also temporarily served as assistant coach where he worked with and coached the post players.
Prior to his season in Houston, Shreeve was on staff for three seasons at BYU in multiple capacities. Most recently he was a graduate assistant for the Cougars under Jeff Judkins. He also served as the interim director of operations and as the team's video coordinator. Prior to that he was a practice player for four seasons while an undergrad student at BYU. While with the Cougars, the team made four NCAA tournament appearances and advanced to the second round twice.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from BYU in 2018 and later completed his Master of Science degree with a concentration in mass communication in 2021.
He and his wife, Mandalee, are the parents of four children: Michael Jr, Hyrum, Maylee, and Alayna.
