Sophie Albano-Alisberg joined head coach Dan Nielson staff as the program’s first ever director of basketball operations prior to the 2022-23 season. Albano-Alisberg has spent time working in both collegiate and professional basketball, including a stint with the NBA during the NBA Restart (the bubble) in Lake Buena Vista, Florida in 2020.
She worked as a team attendant during the NBA bubble and during the 2020-21 NBA season was a statistical auditor with the league in Secaucus, New Jersey.
Albano-Alisberg was the director of basketball operations for the women’s basketball program at High Point University for the 2018-19 season and the year prior was the operations coordinator at Brown University.
During her undergraduate studies at High Point from 2013-17, she worked as the head team manager for the basketball program. Albano-Alisberg graduated from High Point in 2017 with a degree in human relations and a minor in sports management.
She was also on the support staff with USA Basketball during the summers of 2016 and 2017 in Colorado Springs, working during the team trials for the U16-U19 teams.
