Dr. Tasha Bell

Tasha Bell enters her second season as a full-time assistant coach with Utah Valley, but is no stranger to the program. She has served numerous roles for the Wolverines both as a player and a coach for over a decade.

Bell helped the Wolverines to their third straight WAC Tournament championship match in 2021. The team finished the 2021 season with an impressive 13-7-2 overall record, including a 6-2-2 mark in WAC play. Lemay led the Wolverines to an 8-1-1 record at home. Eight Wolverines were named to the All-WAC team, including a school-record four first team honorees in Amber Tripp, Heather Stainbrook, Sadie Brockbank, and Jenna Shepherd. UVU's four first team All-WAC honorees in 2021 also earned All-Pacific Region honors--the most all-region honorees in team history.

Bell helped UVU to a record-breaking season in 2020-21 where the Wolverines claimed their first-ever WAC regular season title, a third NCAA Tournament berth, and the team's first-ever NCAA Tournament win with its 1-0 first-round win over No. 25 Memphis. The 2020-21 Wolverines are the first team in UVU athletics history to win both a WAC regular season title and WAC Tournament championship in the same season. The team also became the first program in UVU athletics history to win an NCAA Tournament game. A program-record 10 players earned All-WAC honors in 2020-21 and for the first time in program history, UVU had two players earn United Soccer Coaches Association All-Region honors.

The Farmington, Utah native served as an assistant coach and graduate student manager for the University of Minnesota women's soccer team from 2015-2018. While at Minnesota, Bell helped the Gophers to a pair of Big Ten Tournament titles and three NCAA appearances. While in Minnesota, Bell also worked as a goalkeeper trainer for Prior Lake Soccer Club in Minneapolis from 2016-18.

Bell was an assistant coach, recruiting coordinator, and director of operations at Utah Valley from 2011-15, helping the Wolverines to a pair of Great West championships. She also helped UVU with its transition from the Great West to the Western Athletic Conference. Bell has also worked with the UC Strikers and Wasatch Soccer.

Bell played for Utah Valley from 2004-06 and again in 2009 after serving a spanish-speaking LDS mission in South Chicago. As a player, Bell played in 53 career games at goalkeeper and as a senior led UVU to a Great West Conference division and tournament championship, including a shutout of Houston Baptist in the tournament championship match in Newark, New Jersey. She was named to the Great West All-Conference team, the Academic All-Conference team and to the All-Tournament team.

While serving as a volunteer assistant for UVU, Bell is also currently in the sports psychology and counseling department at BYU. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a PhD in Family Social Science-Couple and Family Therapy. She also has a master's degree from BYU and a bachelor's degree from Utah Valley.
