Daniel Jones enters his first season of coaching at Utah Valley University in 2014.
Jones, who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand, comes to UVU from the University of Utah where he spent the past four seasons with the Utes. During his time in Salt Lake City, Jones served as the program's director of volleyball operations for two years as well as the video and statistics coordinator for two more.
In May of 2011, Jones also served as a second assistant coach and technical adviser for the USA A2 Development Program at the USA Open Nationals in Dallas.
Jones will replace his wife Lacee Jones (Koelliker), who recently stepped away from coaching after the couple welcomed their first child, Adalee, in February. After a standout four-year career with the Wolverines, Lacee Jones had been Coach Sam Atoa's top assistant for the past seven seasons.
Daniel Jones was familiar with Atoa and the Wolverines as he was a volunteer assistant at UVU during the 2009 season.
The New Zealand native began his coaching career at Avondale College (Auckland, New Zealand) where he helped guide Avondale to the 2003 national championship before taking over the head coaching position and a third-place finish in 2006.
Jones also coached Gold Medal Squared Camps across the country during the summer months for four years and spent the winters playing and coaching in London, England.
Jones graduated from the University of Canterbury (Christchurch, New Zealand) with a Bachelor of Education degree, specializing in Physical Education.
