Utah Valley men's soccer alum Alex Neff returns to the program for his second stint on the coaching staff, this time serving as the team's Director of Performance. Neff previously served as the team's volunteer assistant from 2018-19.

Neff, who began his Wolverine career as part of the inaugural 2014 squad, is one of the program's all-time best players, anchoring down the defense as a center back. Neff helped lead UVU to its first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in 2015, as well as its first regular season conference title in 2016. Neff was a three-time first team All-WAC selection — the only player in program history to earn that distinction — and was a two-time All-Region honoree.

Neff's teams from 2014-16 were the program's best to date defensively, with each group putting up the top three goals-against averages in program history and the 2016 squad putting up a single-season record 10 shutouts. Despite playing just three seasons, Neff still ranks fourth all-time in games started (56) and minutes played by an outfield player (5,060). Neff played his freshman season on the BYU club team.

A native of South Weber, Utah, Neff graduated from UVU in 2017 with a degree in Exercise Science.Â
