Brett Jacobs is entering his second year on staff at Utah Valley. A veteran coach with over three decades of experience, Jacobs brings a wealth of knowledge from the professional, collegiate, and youth levels.
Before Utah Valley, Jacobs was most recently a member of the first team coaching staff with Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer from 2022-23. Jacobs also has prior MLS coaching experience with Nashville SC, Portland Timbers (including a stint as U-23 head coach), and Colorado Rapids. Jacobs was on staff with Colorado when it won the 2010 MLS Cup title.
Jacobs played collegiately at the University of South Alabama from 1989-91, and later received his Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting from the University of Alabama. Jacobs enjoyed an 11-year playing career in the U.S. and England before delving into coaching.
